If you were paying attention to the frog picture, I said I'd have a journal up in the next few days, and I didn't.
Until I can get a more detailed journal up, Let me give you a quick update.
Last June, I quit my job in Harrisonburg to find a new direction for my life. I've always had problems with the business world and charging for my services. I moved back in with my parents, focusing on spiritual growth, emotional healing, and rebuilding old relationships. Now, after a year of photography, construction work, teaching and Photoshop, I am a member/missionary with
Wycliffe Bible Translators.
Wycliffe's Mission:
To glorify God by promoting and participating in a movement of the church worldwide to make disciples of all nations through Bible translation.
Wycliffe's Vision:
By 2025, a Bible translation program will be in progress in every language needing one.
I spent June 14-28 in Orlando, FL for "Training Camp." As of July 1, I will be an official employee of Wycliffe. Specifically, after linguistics training, I will be teaching specialized software to Bible translators before they leave for the field. I have finally found a place where my talent for teaching adults technical skills will be used for a greater good, rather than my own benefit.
It's such an exciting time in my life. It looks like soon I'll be moving back to North Carolina. After 3-6 months, I'll have the opportunity to go pretty much anywhere in the world.
Consider yourself informed.
Oh, Thanks to Hazel for taking the initiative to look up Wycliffe! And now...I'm returning to reality to hang out with my parents...be back on in a few days!
